USBDevInfo (“the App”) is a utility for inspecting connected USB devices and presenting USB descriptor information in a clear, structured format for debugging, validation, and reverse-engineering.
We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the App processes and how it is handled.
2) Data We Collect
USBDevInfo does not collect, sell, or share personal data. We do not require accounts, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or biometric data.
3) Information the App Processes (On Device Only)
To provide its core functionality, the App may read USB device metadata from devices you connect to your Android phone/tablet, such as:
- Vendor ID (VID), Product ID (PID)
- Device class/subclass/protocol
- USB configuration/interface/endpoint descriptors
- String descriptors (e.g., manufacturer/product name), if provided by the device
This information is processed locally on your device and displayed to you in the App’s user interface.
4) Permissions
Depending on Android version and how you use the App, it may request permission to access connected USB devices (e.g., via Android’s USB Host APIs). This permission is used solely to:
- Detect connected USB devices
- Read and display descriptor information that the device exposes
The App does not use these permissions to track you or collect personal information.
5) Data Storage
By default, USBDevInfo does not store USB descriptor data permanently.
If the App includes optional features such as exporting or saving reports (for example, JSON/text exports), then:
- Any saved/exported files are created only when you explicitly choose to do so.
- Saved files remain on your device under your control.
- You can delete them at any time using your device file manager.
6) Network Access
USBDevInfo does not transmit USB device data to the developer or any third party.
If the App includes optional features that require internet access (for example, checking an online USB ID database, viewing documentation links, or fetching updates), those requests are limited to the feature you invoke and are not used for profiling.
7) Third-Party Services
USBDevInfo does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools.
8) Crash Logs and Diagnostics
If the App supports crash reporting, any diagnostic data is limited to what is necessary to identify and fix stability issues (e.g., stack traces, App version). It is not used for advertising.
If you do not use crash reporting, state: USBDevInfo does not collect crash logs remotely.
9) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements. If we make changes, we will update the “Effective date” above.
